Robins Posturing in the Walnut Tree

Not much has changed with our Walnut Tree in the past few weeks- except for the birds.  Last night a few American Robins were moving about near the top of the tree.

Robin activity has increased in the past couple of days.  Why?  They still sit near each other, but look at the tail feathers.

I don’t recall seeing them that spread out before.  Also, this robin is sitting with its head moved forward.  Is it being aggressive?

I think so.  It appears that males and females are getting ready for mating.  The males are playing their game to determine who the biggest and strongest are.  I expect to soon see a robin in the robin’s nest under our garage eave, as has been the case for the past couple of years.
