I know that most of the U.S. has been suffering from snowstorms with gale-force winds, thunder, arctic temperatures and whatever else mother nature decides to conjure up. But here in the Pacific Northwest we can feel spring creeping closer. Lots of plants in my yard were coming out of the ground this weekend.
Sedum is beginning to emerge.
Lupine is soaking up the rain.
Skunk Cabbage is getting ready to flower.
And Coltsfoot, which is unusual in that it flowers before growing leaves, is shooting up everywhere.
