This small bee was drinking nectar from a daisy a couple of weeks ago in the front yard. I’m not sure what type it is, but it does resemble a Sweat Bee.
See the yellow hairs on its legs? They are probably there to collect pollen to bring back to the nest (see this post for a look at how honey bees do this).
The weather has been changing here- it is getting colder and wetter. I am not expecting to see scenes like this again until next year.

That’s a sweet sweat bee! And the flower is gorgeous!
Beautiful shots.
REally like the pollen on his legs, cool close-up.
Yes, a bit sweaty! Great shots!
Amazing shots! So much detail. Looks like he knows exactly what he wants!
Soon you will be getting some wild organic honey if more bees come to your garden?
The details, especially on that colorful little bee are amazing. Beautiful shot.
Oh haven’t heard of a sweat bee before! Lucky you for snapping on it, before they hide!
I am glad to see some of the buggers survived the bee blight this year. Nice shot.
Great shots Mike – we’ve got sweat bees in our garden too. Little too wet today to go out and watch them!
What incredible detail! I sat staring for a while, just drinking in all the details that are too small to see out in the field!
