Leafhopper closeup

I found this small bug on a tree in the backyard today.  It is a leafhopper.  While many of these bugs are colorful, this one is a dull brown.  They are called leafhoppers because they eat leaves and their big hind legs allow them to leap pretty far.

Take a close look at the plant stem that the leafhopper is sitting on.  Click on the photo to see a closeup.  Do you see the hairs?  It is amazing what we can see on living things when we pay close attention.
